The Settlers
Film Screening in English
The Settlers by Shimon Dotan offers an unflinching look at the Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The documentary examines how religious beliefs, political ideologies, and state support have contributed to the growth of settler movements and the ongoing expansion of settlements. Dotan gives a voice both to representatives from the settlements and to historical news footage, in order to highlight the complexity of the conflict. The film also focuses on particularly radical groups — the so-called Hilltop Youth — and raises questions about the role of ideology, power, and moral boundaries.
