Acting in solidarity with coffee?

How can coffee be traded in solidarity? The Aroma Zapatista and la gota negra collectives import, process and distribute coffee using the concept of solidarity trade. This concept attempts to implement an alternative to colonial-capitalist exploitation in world trade - among other things by strengthening the self-organisation of resistant communities and the resistance of struggling movements or by encouraging change within the coffee industry. The collectives present their understanding and practice of solidarity-based trade and report on the contradictions they face. Questions can then be clarified.
