Comic-Ausstellung: Episodes from a Colonial Present

Sieben Autor:innen und sieben Künstler:innen aus Mexiko, Namibia, China, Kanada, Indien, Deutschland und dem Baskenland haben sich zusammengetan, um der alltäglichen gegenwärtigen Kolonialität unterschiedlichster Ausprägung in Form von Comicgeschichten nachzugehen.

In keeping with the non-commercial publisher's motto Daraja Press „die Vergangenheit wieder anzueignen, die Gegenwart infrage zu stellen und die Zukunft zu erfinden“ geht es in fünf Comic-Geschichten und vier Comic-Collagen zum einen darum:
- the Traces of the colonial past in every possible corner of our lives today and uncover the colonial violence inherent in global inequality.
- On the other hand, the articles also shed light on the decolonising potential of everyday struggles to recognise and make reparations for the effects of European colonialism - in all its ambivalence and contradictions.

Many of the stories are inspired by the family histories and activist experiences of the authors, who live in Graphic novel style erzählt werden. Wir freuen uns, dass wir die Comic-Ausstellung, die auf wissenschaftlichen Recherchen beruht, im Rahmen des BUKO 40 zeigen werden.
