The BUKO
The Federal Coordination for Internationalism (BUKO) is the organiser of the congress and stands for emancipatory politics, radical criticism of social conditions and an internationalist movement. It is an independent umbrella organisation to which 104 One World groups, development policy organisations, inter- and transnationalist initiatives, solidarity groups, shops, campaigns and magazine projects as well as almost 100 individuals currently belong. BUKO was founded in 1977, making it one of the oldest grassroots networks in Germany. The origins of BUKO lie in the solidarity movements with the liberation struggles in the South.
BUKO sees itself as a place for left-wing debates critical of domination and networks BUKO campaigns and working contexts that have emerged from development policy mobilisation and political work. BUKO seeks open dialogue with other emancipatory movements and non-governmental organisations.
